Nuns in the Middle Ages were much more than ascetic women who were only interested in the world within the monastery walls. The convent offered women opportunities that they otherwise hardly had – access to higher education, social security and the chance to escape family norms. The exhibition uses various personalities to illustrate the diversity of the ways of life of spiritual women in the Middle Ages.<\/p>\n

The exhibition shows a video installation by Annelies \u0160trba, in cooperation with J\u00fcrg Egli and Samuel Schobinger.<\/p>\n
