People in American Photography
PERCEPTIONS zeigt Arbeiten amerikanischer Fotografen, die sich mit Fragen von menschlicher Nähe, Körperlichkeit, Intimität und Fragilität beschäftigen. Die Fotografien thematisieren alltägliche Themen und Situationen, deren Notwendigkeit uns erst in einer Zeit, die von Einschränkungen, Distanzierung und Isolation geprägt ist, deutlich vor Augen geführt werden. PERCEPTIONS soll auf die Wichtigkeit der Beziehung der Menschen untereinander – unabhängig von Herkunft und Hautfarbe – aufmerksam machen und skizziert mit einer Auswahl an hochwertigen Vintage Fotografien aus Privatsammlungen eine Zeitreise durch die Fotografiegeschichte des 20. Jahrhunderts.
Gezeigt werden Vintage Fotografien von Imogen Cunningham (1883-1976), Saul Leiter (1923-2013), Jill Freedman (1939-2019), Duane Michals (*1932), Jerry Uelsmann (*1934), Nan Goldin (*1953), Sally Mann (*1951), Jock Sturges (*1947), Herb Ritts (1952-2002) und Jack Pierson (*1960) sowie eine Auswahl an Estate Prints von Vivian Maier (1926-2009).
