Richard Serra

(USA)

Born in 1938 in San Francisco, USA. He lives and works in New York, USA.

Richard Serra is one of the preeminent American artists and sculptors of the post-Abstract Expressionist period. Beginning in the late 1960s to the present, his work has played a major role in advancing the tradition of modern abstract art in the aftermath of Minimalism.

Serra’s works are held in the collections of the Guggenheim Bilbao, Spain; Dia: Beacon, New York, USA; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, USA; Tate Gallery in London, UK; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, USA, among others.
