The exhibition presents current works from the series Still Life, Flowers, Trees & Paradise. Schobinger creates impressive depictions of the plant world, expressing her deep connection to nature and culture. She succeeds in making the incomprehensible and transcendent visible –an experience that evokes an immediate resonance in the viewer. The plant world as a symbol of the feminine and sensual plays a central role in her work. The fusion of nature and culture creates poetic reflections on identity and our innermost consciousness. Her meticulously staged and at the same time associatively designed photographs invite us to take a closer look – and reveal a subtle depth.

A particular focus of the exhibition is on the series Anthemis Nobilis. In this series, Schobinger combines analogue self-portraits from her youth with hand-colored glass slides by Czech photographer Josef Hanel (1865-1940). This unique combination of historical botanical representations and personal self-portraits creates a new visual world that addresses questions of existence, corporeality and the simultaneity of different time periods. Impressive examples of the self-portraits from the long-term project Adolescence will also be on display in the exhibition.
