“Anyone who has experienced New York on vacation would hardly recognize the global metropolis. Times Square, for example, which is usually so lively, seems deserted due to the corona pandemic. In the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood in Manhattan, improvised food shacks line up in front of restaurants. Just a few minutes’ walk away, near the new Hudson Yards neighborhood of skyscrapers ranging from 300 to nearly 400 feet high, is Arnold Helbling’s studio. The Brugger has spent more than half of his life in New York.”
