YOUR LIFE
Photography from the KWS-Collection
Museum Franz Gertsch
17.09.2022 – 27.11.2022
For the second time, an exhibition in the cabinet of the Museum Franz Gertsch provides an insight into the collection of the Keller-Wedekind Foundation, this time focusing on photography.
Diverse and profound associations inspire the works selected for this collection presentation “Your Life”. Birth, love, freedom and self-responsibility, beauty, finitude, death and eternity – what constitutes life, where does the meaning lie? Where do we come from, where are we going? What is really important? What defines our identity, how do we locate our personality? Are we hunters or hunted? The list of questions raised could go on and on – in the selection of 20 black-and-white and colour artist photographs, existential-philosophical themes are taken up visually and open up a space for thought, not without irony and hope.
With works by Balthasar Burkhard, Reto Camenisch, Marianne Engel, Peter Hebeisen, Urs Lüthi, Chantal Michel, Nadin Maria Rüfenacht, Shirana Shahbazi, Annelies Štrba, Anouk Tschanz.
